InovaHC — Compass

A two-year renewable advisory relationship with Latin America's largest academic medical center, combining portfolio evaluation and global investment advisory in exchange for Arkus's São Paulo operational base.

InovaHC is the innovation arm of Hospital das Clínicas, affiliated with the University of São Paulo. Their portfolio spans digital health, medical devices, biotech, and healthcare services across clinical and research contexts.

InovaHC needed ongoing, structured evaluation capacity plus access to global investment and partnership networks. Arkus needed a credible, high-signal operational base in São Paulo tied to the Brazilian healthcare innovation ecosystem.

Portfolio analysis: Ongoing venture evaluation across InovaHC's portfolio using Compass methodology, including periodic portfolio reviews and single-venture deep dives.

Global advisory: Investment, commercialization, and partnership guidance, plus introductions across Arkus's global network.

Operational base: Arkus operations from InovaHC's incubator space in São Paulo as the firm's primary Latin America office.

The engagement established a durable, renewable advisory structure coupling continuous Compass-level portfolio support with on-the-ground regional execution. Publication-ready quantitative outcomes are pending client-approved disclosure.

Arkus did not take equity positions in InovaHC portfolio ventures or operate as an investment vehicle. The relationship is structured as a value exchange: analysis and network access for operational presence.

This is deliberate. Arkus's role as an independent assessment layer requires separation from direct investment incentives in ventures it evaluates.
