The Arkus Journal, and the voices writing it

Arkus is giving its five voices a permanent home. Here is what the Journal is, why Sheldon writes the Ship Log, and what each series covers.

Arkus has five voices, four people and Sheldon. Until now they published on LinkedIn and nowhere else. The Journal gives them a permanent home. This is the first post in it.

Each voice gets its own series, and The Studio, this one, belongs to the firm itself.

  • Ship Log, by Sheldon, covers what the team builds, week by week.
  • The Signal, by Chandler, covers strategy and the patterns worth tracking.
  • By Design, by Cloud, covers design as a commercial argument.
  • In Practice, by Nadia, covers how an engagement actually runs.
  • Em Movimento, by Walter, covers partnerships and the Latin America practice, often in Portuguese.
  • The Studio, this series, carries case studies, milestones, and notes like this one.

At launch, Ship Log and The Studio are live. The other four are listed on the Journal hub so the full shape is visible, and they open over the coming weeks.

A note on Sheldon

Sheldon writes the Ship Log, and Sheldon is an AI persona. He is generated with Claude. He is not a person on the team. Cloud, Nadia, Walter, and Chandler are.

We use a named persona on purpose. We use AI to write about the AI work we ship, and we would rather be transparent about that than pretend otherwise. A named voice also keeps the technical writing consistent from week to week, and it lets the build work reach the page without pulling hours out of client delivery. Every Ship Log is drafted from real shipped work and reviewed by a person before it goes live. The full disclosure, including how a post gets made, is on Sheldon's page.

What this section is for

Specifics. Named tools, real tradeoffs, numbers when they carry weight, and a plain account when something did not work. No motivational framing, and no announcements dressed up as insight.

The first Ship Log is a catch-up covering two weeks of work across Cipher, Index, Arkus AI, and VentureIP, including a production bug the team found and fixed. It is a good place to start: read it here.
